Storage:  2-8 C in the dark.

Important: Sodium azide forms explosive compounds with heavy metals. These products contain <0.05% (w/w) azide which with repeated contact with lead and copper commonly found in plumbing drains may result in the buildup of shock sensitive compounds. Dispose in accordance with regulations from your institute.

Application: Optimal antibody pair and antigen standard for assaying human ANGPT-2/Angiopoietin-2/Tie2 ligand/ANG-2. To be used in conjunction with the AimPlex NR Basic Kit (PN: P100001) and a diluent kit. Refer to the AimPlex Multiplex Immunoassay User Manual and kit inserts for the assay procedure.

Description:

ANGPT-2/Angiopoietin-2/Tie2 ligand/ANG-2 is a growth factor belonging to the angiopoietin/Tie (tyrosine kinase with Ig and EGF homology domains) signaling pathway, one of the main pathways involved in angiogenesis.  ANG-2 was found to be an antagonist of Tie2 and an inhibitor of ANG-1. ANG-2 plays a central role in diseases related to vascular permeability and angiogenesis.  ANG-2 has also been shown to participate in several cancer-independent inflammatory conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, sepsis, and acute lung injury. Overexpression of ANG-2 has been found to correlate with increased angiogenesis, malignancy, and aggressive cancer growth.
