Components:

45x Ab-conjugated beads (S5P9- Human Galectin-9 Ab-bead). PN: B111439A. One vial containing 100 µL of anti-human Galectin-9 conjugated to AimPlex Bead S5P9.

25x Biotin-detection Ab (human Galectin-9 Biotin-dAb). PN: B111439B. One vial containing    100 µL of biotinylated anti-Human Galectin-9.

Lyophilized Standard - Human Galectin-9. PN: B111439S. One vial containing lyophilized Galectin-9.

Application: Optimal antibody pair and antigen standard for assaying human Galectin-9.  To be used in conjunction with the AimPlex NR Basic Kit (PN: P100001) and a diluent kit. Refer to the AimPlex Multiplex Immunoassay User Manual and kit inserts for the assay procedure.

Storage:  2-8 C in the dark.

Important: Sodium azide forms explosive compounds with heavy metals. These products contain <0.05% (w/w) azide which with repeated contact with lead and copper commonly found in plumbing drains may result in the buildup of shock sensitive compounds. Dispose in accordance with regulations from your institute.

Description:

Galectin-9 (LGALS9) (Accession number: O00182) is also known as tumor antigen HOM-HD-21 and ecalectin. The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. The expression of galectin-9 has been detected on various hematological malignancies, such as CLL, MDS, Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphomas, AML or solid tumors, such as lung cancer, breast cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Galectin-9 is one of the most studied ligands for HAVCR2 (TIM-3). Galectin-9 also stimulates bactericidal activity in infected macrophages by causing macrophage activation and IL1B secretion which restricts intracellular bacterial growth.
