45x Ab-conjugated beads (S5P8 - Rat IL-1RA Ab-bead). PN: B311167A. One vial containing 100 µL of anti-rat IL-1RA conjugated to AimPlex Bead S5P8.

25x Biotin-detection Ab (Rat IL-1RA Biotin-dAb). PN: B311167B. One vial containing 100 µL of biotinylated anti-rat IL-1RA.

Lyophilized Standard Mix - Rat IL-1RA, PN: B311167S. One vial containing lyophilized IL-1RA.

Application: Optimal antibody pair and antigen standard for assaying Rat IL-1RA. To be used in conjunction with the AimPlex Mouse/Rat Basic Kit (PN: P200201) and a diluent kit. Refer to the AimPlex Multiplex Immunoassay User Manual and kit inserts for the assay procedure.

Storage:  2-8 C in the dark.

Important: Sodium azide forms explosive compounds with heavy metals. These products contain <0.05% (w/w) azide which with repeated contact with lead and copper commonly found in plumbing drains may result in the buildup of shock sensitive compounds. Dispose in accordance with regulations from your institute.

Description:

Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist is a member of Interleukin-1 cytokine family. IL1RA binds non-productively to the IL-1 receptor surface, the same receptor that binds to IL-1. IL1RA is secreted by many types of T cells and epithelial cells and adipocytes. It inhibits the pro-inflammatory activities of IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta, though in vitro, IL1RA appears to have no effect on human T cell responses. It may indicate that IL-1 may not be necessary for T cell proliferation in vitro. IL-1 instigates the production of matrix metalloproteinases and other enzymes damage cartilage. As IL1RA restricts IL-1, a recombinant version of IL1RA is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Studies have also observed a relationship between high levels of IL1RA and schizophrenia.
